Trust

'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.' - Proverbs 3: 5-6

One of the main things human beings struggle with is trust. People constantly let us down. I'm afraid it is imperative that human beings will continue to let us down- why? just because we are human. I am aware we are all [especially Christians] moving towards perfection; as we are yet to be perfected, we are likely to tread on each other's toes and we become reclusive daily, thinking it quite difficult to trust each other.
I have good news for you: You Can Trust the Lord Jesus Christ!!!

He does not disappoint, I've known Him for twenty-eight years now and I still depend heavily on His guidance as He has never disappointed me.
You can trust Him today- you can talk to Him, share those inner thoughts and feelings with Him that you dare not tell anyone; He will never expose you or condemn you, but gently guide you into His truth and plan for you.

Have a tremendous day and remember, Trust in the Lord.

Christ Is Alive

This morning, two thousand plus years ago not only had Christ risen from the dead; He became visible to His disciples. This is what makes Christ special. He died as every other but one thing that had never happened was the resurrection.  Jesus’ word, “I am the resurrection and the life,” became a phrase the disciples remembered. It gave them joy, gladness and confidence. They knew Christ is indeed the messiah.

This is the hope of the world today, the hope we have in Christ. The day of misery on Good Friday, the dull day of Saturday and the day of confusion on Sunday came to an end when Jesus was seen face to face by all those who knew Him on what is called Easter Monday.

Easter Monday is the day of rejoicing, the day of peace and the day of commission. So, as we celebrate today let’s find time to ponder over what Christ’s life means to us and review what He has commissioned us to do. Enjoy today

A Dull Day

Hope for the living is a unique site as it is a site for all. I am so excited you are following me on this blog and look forward to reading your interesting thoughts and ideas

I believe more than two thousand years ago this day in the history of the Bible was void of excitement. Christ had died, the disciples were scattered, many would be wondering if all what they had believed in up to that moment has just dissipated in their very eyes.
That is how I feel sometimes, I don't know about you. It seems all what I had been aiming for or working on to bring some sort of aura of joy or success, finds a way of hiding itself behind the clouds and for a short period or season, just like the Saturday after the Good Friday it seems all hopes are dashed as there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel.
I've been there, I'm sure you have too. Well let's sleep over it tonight and see what would happen tomorrow.

Alive

Hope for the living is a unique site as it is a site for all. I am so excited you are following me on this blog and look forward to reading your interesting thoughts and ideas

As I stepped out of the bathroom I paused and thought, I wouldn't have been around if not for one individual, one special person, one man who turned my life around. He took me by the hand and told me to rely and depend on Him. He assured me He will take care of me and He will give me the will to live and the desire to achieve. Guess What! He did!

I'm alive today and I can celebrate life because Christ gave me life, He gave me hope and freedom and I celebrate Him this day as He was courageous enough to believe His father God will do as He has promised -leading Him to the cross but not abandoning Him there.
He Arose!
He is Alive!
I am Alive!
Alleluyah!

THE GUIDE

At times we do not realise how much word of God is in us until we need to use it or when He wants to speak to us and we seem obstinate or want to do our own thing in our own way.

I am grateful for His word as it is a blessing. Last week I had the privilege of writing about Christ as our Reliable Counsellor but at times we don’t really know how much He aims at guiding us even when we do not ask for counsel.

I sat in the restroom a few days ago and I had the impression to change the plans I had made for this week, precisely for tomorrow. It did seem a bit odd. Not that God can not speak or I am not ready to hear but it just felt [there is no danger in that could there be?] I had the thought or the idea in my mind but continued with my plan anyway until yesterday.

On my way home the thought of changing my plan came to mind again. I struggled within but remembered Christ as the ‘Reliable Counsellor’ and decided to back down. You can imagine how relieved I was when that happened I still don’t know why I had to change the plans but who knows some danger… has been or will be averted. All I know is that the Lord reigns and I would allow Him to reign perfectly in all my ways irrespective of what happens.

I remember reading Proverbs chapter 8:34-36

Blessed is the man who listens to me,
       watching daily at my doors,
       waiting at my doorway.

For whoever finds me finds life
and receives favour from the LORD.

 But whoever fails to find me harms himself;
all who hate me love death."
  (New International Version)

and I pondered over verse 36 wondering how awful it would be to miss God.

Well this is my sharing of today I hope it blesses you as I think of some new plans and hope I am making right choices.

Have a great day and remember to celebrate who you are in Christ.

                       THE BLESSING OF GOD

What do you see as the BLESSING of God?

'The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich. and he adds no sorrow with it.' Proverbs 10:22 [NLT]
What have you woken up to this morning? what do you see? Pain, shame or happiness, excitement and laughter? It does seem a bit odd to say this, but what we see determines what we'll be and what we'll be comes about by our attitiude and possibly our altitude. Our altitude in the sense that the closer we aim to be in the realm of the Spirit, the easier it becomes for us to see God's handiwork. So,at times what we see though might seem not what we want to see, we are aware there is something great, spectacular and magnificent about to come out of it.

A blessing is only a blessing if you and I consider it a blessing. Let's start from today shall we and let's believe today is a blessing. Do you know why? Because you still have one more day to celebrate life, one more day to celebrate you one more day to celebrate God, so why pause now? Go on, celebrate as you are not totally aware of tomorrow but you can certainly see today.
Today is your day of blessing and the Lord does not intend to add sorrow to your today. Alleluyah Rejoice

Jesus Christ Is The Same Yesterday Today and Forever
Hebrews 13:8 NLT

I've been away from home for about a few weeks now [On Holiday] but the main thing I have observed is that the Lord is the same wherever I find myself. The scriptures are perfect, 'the earth is the Lord's and the fulness thereof'.
The thing I have learned so far being away from home is that God is everywhere is a cliche.
Yes the Lord is everywhere but is He living in my heart? Do I trust Him to take care of me wherever I find myself? Do you?
God remains the same but how about me? How about you? Are you faithful? Are you constant? God wants us to serve Him with a genuine heart? Not when our pastors are around we are the most holiest of all but when we are far away we do what we like.
Christianity means to be Christlike, in the morning, afternoon and evening of our lives whether those who know us are around or not.

For these few days that I've moved around, I've realised that God is the same no matter the land, the people or the tribe. As I pondered on His Handiwork all I could say is, Our God is the same He never changes and He loves His people.
I hope to be back at home soon but before then Remember
"...He is our God forever and ever and He will guide us until we die." Psalm 48:14 NLT
Have a great time and get ready for a tremendous new month

Summer Holiday is Fun

Summer Holiday is Fun all over the world, friends, parties, games, television, sleep and sleep and sleep and being BORED.

Not everyone gets to travel the world, but everyone has the opportunity to reach the world, I mean pre-meditate, what I actually meant is wearing your thinking cap and think about your future.

What future?
I know you do think about your future but what do you actually think about? Is it the newest boy or girl friend or latest accessory in town? Are you excited about the newest computer game or the latest converses, bags or phones?

Don’t get me wrong it’s the greatest thing on earth to be trendy but if you don’t invest into your future are you likely to remain trendy?

Everyone likes and needs money and I’m sure you need some too. You might be moaning about not getting a job, or not getting money from those who claim to love you which could be true but what are you doing and thinking about?

Have you not realised you can think of a positive way of making money? Just look around you what do you see? I know you’ve seen nothing but look again. Come on, you can do it, what can you really see?

‘But I have no one to help me…’, ‘do you not understand …?’

I do, there were times I’ll blame everyone in the world except myself so I do understand but it got to a point when I was twenty I decided to take charge of my situation and my own life and it was hard as I had no money and no one to back me but God and I did achieve.

‘That’s you,’ you say but it could be you too. Come on dream on DO NOT FANTASISE, just be realistic and before you know it, you are heading somewhere great.

Ready, Steady, Go…

How COOL are you?

COOL  =
             C  = CONDUIT
             O  = OF
             O  = OPEN-ENDED
             L   = LEVERAGE

Are you a Conduit of Open-ended Leverage?

Conduit        = A person that acts as a channel for the transmission of something
Open-ended  = Having no predetermined limit or boundary
Leverage       = Power to influence a person/ a situation
= Use something to maximum advantage

Am I COOL?

Yes you are COOL when you desire to be an achiever.

You are COOL as you aspire to work hard.

You are COOL as you determine to be a channel that transmits success.

You are COOL if you strive for a purpose:  not to hurt but to create.

Yes you are COOL as you lift someone’s burden; helping someone who is sad get his/her life back.

You certainly are COOL if you use your opportunity to the maximum to be a leverage.

Yes, you are COOL when you refuse to limit yourself, knowing as a conduit you are not limited in anyway.

You know what I mean, being helpful, lovable but not spiteful. These are essential ingredients of a conduit; they are distinctive skills and characteristics of a conduit, yes, that’s when you are really COOL.

Think for a minute, how COOL it is to have money in your pocket, to go shopping and buy some quality clothing or accessories. How COOL to not always go, ‘mum, can I have a certain amount of money please.’

How COOL will it be when you know either now or in the future you can make money in an intelligent way?

Yea conduit that’s right but you know what? You need to start now don’t spend all day watching television or sleeping, sleeping and sleeping. You will shut down as a conduit and you will never be COOL.

Do something you will be proud of: compose a poem, write lyrics for a song, write a TV script or design a new advert, devise a new computer game, invent something new.

You know you can do it so why deny yourself your opportunity to be celebrated?

Getting off facebook, twitter and MSN for a few minutes so as to ponder, meditate and re-think will be really worthwhile when the results begin to roll in.

Halting to play PSP and Wii is what is really really COOL.

Have you heard of a business person who first tells his/her rivals their ideas? Such a person will not be succeeding.

To think is cool but to take positive actions and no procrastination is even COOLER.

Your challenge now:

Think of a new idea.

What can you invent?

What could you do positively to make the situation you are in better?

Stop blaming everyone else but yourself.

The spotlight is on you this is your opportunity to show the world you are indeed COOL.

Leave your thoughts and new ideas

 BE  THANKFUL
In the UK we celebrate Father’s day. I walked into the supermarket the other day [In fact a couple of them] and right at the entrance there were stacks of cards displayed all reading ‘Father’s Day’. Except you don’t have a father, a dad, an uncle or a brother, you are bound to want to take one.

For a split second I thought how amazing to remind the world how important it is that we honour our men in the day and age where everyone considers themselves much more important than any other. During  that same train of thought, I thought about how much we tend to ignore the Father of Father’s. We seem to have got so used to Him that we see all what He must do for us as a right and if He does not do it, we seem to become indignant and think He does not deserve our praise or even our thanksgiving.

Hang on a minute though, which one is more reliable? The Father who remains the same ‘yesterday, today and forever’ or the father who, though determines to do all what He can to help his children still cannot control forever what happens to his children. Do not get me wrong, I would love my father to have been alive that I could honour him for all what he has done for me. Nevertheless, I see it as a privilege to honour the King of Glory, to bow before Him and thank Him for every breath, every life and everything He has done for me.

It is okay to thank our earthly fathers as the scriptures say, ‘Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute [is due]; to whom ...honour to whom honour,’ Romans 13: 7 KJV. Much more, it is essential that we remember at all times and [not just on Father’s day] to honour our Father in heaven. ‘Come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord our maker...’ Psalm 95:6. Let us constantly make an effort to be grateful to our heavenly Father even when we don’t feel like it as He is able to do even the things that seem impossible for any human being to do.

A New Month! A New Chapter!

What An Amazing Time!

Waking up to the month of June was like a shocker. June already!

It seemed surreal but when I reconsidered it I thought it is quite possible that we are in June. I am grateful to the Lord for keeping us all that we are alive at this great moment when He is doing wonders in the world.

I just felt wow! Where am I in God's plan and what have I accomplished this year.

I've been away from this blog for awhile and that doesn't seem acceptable to me but it is one of those things that reminds us:
1.) we are not superhuman
2.) the Lord is in absolute control of all what we do. He knows our thoughts and our plans and orchestrates everything in a way that He alone will be glorified.

I want to believe I am back to keep on posting, hoping I would not be absent fo a lengthy time again.
In the meantime count your years as months, the months as weeks, the weeks as days for any day now, Christ might appear in the sky and when He does, it is time to go home. LeaveComment

Have a blessed week and stay focused on the giver of life.

How Invisible Is Our Invisible God

Although I was poorly one week, I still managed to go to work. On one of those days however, one of my adult students saw me and from what she told her peers, from the way she saw me, I did not look well. As a result, on the day I was to have their class, a day after the student saw me, she hinted the class that I might not be coming as I did not look too well. I did turn up for the class, but that illustration got me thinking.
I asked myself, where did the student see me and how did she come to a conclusion I was unwell? How did I carry myself that made her conclude I was unwell because she said I did not see her?

A day or two after that incident I was sitting alone in a room waiting for my son. Something seemed to be tugging away irritatingly at my nose so unconsciously I started the counter operation with my hand before I got a paper handkerchief. As I used the handkerchief I remembered again the fact that somebody saw me the other time even when I did not know. It was an enclosed room so even though I looked around, I said to myself it’s unlikely anyone could have seen me ‘pick my nose’ suddenly I had a nudging within as I heard the Spirit of the Lord say we do not realise how much He sees us. Maybe as Christians [practising believers] we are aware the Lord sees every move we make, every action we take and every thought we neatly tuck away in our hearts then we might do things differently.

Let us look at it this way, if the Lord says He hears the prayers we offer in secret and rewards us openly, how then have we forgotten that He sees even the things we do not talk to Him about? Do we think we will not be rewarded for that? Once again I became conscious of the fact that I need to take my Christian life seriously knowing that He sees and knows all what I do and say whether no one else sees or hears.
What do you think? Have any experiences? Why not share your ideas here? Leave A Comment

Bow Down And Worship The King Who Meant It When He Said It Is Finished

"Come let us worship and bow down.
Let us kneel before the Lord our maker,
for he is our God.
We are the people he watches over,
the flock under his care"
       Psalm 95: 6-7

A business person tends to take stock now and again. The purpose for this is to note what has happened over the past few months, have they sold products, how many and what has been the result, has there been any profit and at what rate was the product demanded etc. In such a manner, I tried to take stock these few days and I realised I have really been fortunate as it has been a great privilege to have Jesus as my personal lord and saviour.

I was seated in church on the resurrection [Easter] morning and took a step backwards. A realisation of where God has brought me from and where I am now took my breath away. All what I have seen the Lord do in my life, the dreams that have come true, His promises that have come to fruition, the tears that have been wiped away all brought me to my knees. I visualised Him on the cross a millennium years ago saying, ‘it is finished’ and looking at where I am today I could actually see that He has rolled away the stone that had been a barrier to my happiness and I can shout with victory that it is finished.

I remember times I used to speak the Lord’s words to obstacles in my life through prayer, believing everything will come to an end one day. On this day however, I saw things in a different light. Although I can never stop talking to the Lord and fellowshipping with Him, it became apparent that some things I had given up on, some areas I just thought might never change in my life have miraculously been turned around. God had answered all my ‘desperate’ prayers. I also had mixed feelings within, for even though I was pleased the Lord had turned my life around by fulfilling His promise, I found it a bit difficult to handle the fact that I really could just go on celebrating what the Lord has done for me not needing to pray for it to happen but topping up my prayers for the grace to enjoy it.

It might seem bizarre that I am finding it a challenge to explain myself. What I mean is, I had experienced numerous setbacks so not having one form of challenge or another seemed surreal. Yes I still have a thousand and one prayer points to offer to God daily, as I need Him to constantly direct every affair of my life but it just seemed as if some challenges had gone on for so long that I got so used to having them. So, the fact that they dwindled, dissipated and vanished absolutely has given me the audacity to declare that God is faithful that His death on the cross is real. Not just because He died but the fact that He rose from the dead and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” Matthew 28:18 [NIV].

This phrase offered me hope and offers hope to anyone who is willing to believe that it can come true in their life. The authority given to Jesus has enabled us to rejoice, to celebrate His goodness, it enables us as Christians to have Celebration Times. Not just during special Christian events like Easter but every day, every hour, every minute of our lives because of what He has done and what He is doing.

So next time, before you decide to grumble about what the Lord hasn’t completed in your life, to enable you reiterate His phrase, ‘It is finished,’ take stock, see what He has done, where He has brought you out from and bow down and worship Him.

Meeting My First Love

Irrespective of where you are in life in relation to ‘love’, there is an individual who loves you very, very, much. That is whether you are a young person who is trying to formulate what love is about in real terms, or you are an adult who has and/or is experiencing love or yearns for love of some sort, I have splendid news for you, there is someone who loves you unconditionally.

Maybe I can hear you mutter, ‘you must be joking, no one loves me,’ or on the other hand you might be sniffing your nose sarcastically, saying to me, ‘if only you know the pain in my heart at this point in time you will not be talking about love.’ I know, I’ve been there, unrequited love, being let down, yearning for what the real love is. Well I have good news for you, I fell in love with someone who has made me the happiest person in life. He has given me all what I need and when I think I need something but He thinks otherwise, He finds a way of convincing me and I do eventually agree and understand.

What amazes me is He loves me for who I am not for what He wants me to be.  I met Him in 1983 and He did change my orientation about life. I decided from that time on that I could rely on Him everyday, everytime and everywhere. At times though, He seems to be slower than I was at such times I scream, shout and cry my eyes out. Do you know what He does? He just comes over wipes my tears and says, 'It will be okay,' I know you want to move on, you want things to change but be a bit patient because your best is yet to come.' I look at Him dazed and perplexed but I do reason with Him and calm down. I realise He knows best and allow Him.

That is why I am still moving on today, being in good health and still being able to celebrate because I have met the love of my life and He has never let me down.
am I talking about my husband? He is the greatest husband of all times but I wouldn't have met him in the first place, if not for my first love who is the Lord Jesus Christ. Have you met Him?  I do recommend Him to you today and begin to experience this love.

A Celebration of Real Love

"We know that real love is because Jesus gave up His life for us.
So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters." I John 3:16

For a few days now I have been thinking about Love. Love that supercedes any other love, the love of Christ.
Has Easter ever caught you unawares? The adverts and displays are there in the department stores and supermarkets to keep us on track
but have you ever thought about the importance of Easter?

This week I thought about the sacrifice Christ was prepared to and did go through for me. Is there anyother way love
can be demonstrated? He went through pain and shame on my behalf.
Not many of us are willing to do that these days. Even if we do, we want to ensure we are praised for our effort and
sacrifice.

Give it a thought how many times have you publicised the sacrifice Christ made on your behalf? Have you constantly celebrated
what He has done for you, by shedding His blood on the cross?

Celebrating the resurrection of Christ should not be limited to Easter alone or just on Sunday celebrations at church. Everyday, look at one thing
Christ has done for you, your family and give him praise. readmore

Self Esteem

So you do wonder why the reaction to someone you accidently stepped on as you rustled through a crowd on the high street was a punch or a rain of abuse? Read on.

I wondered for years. To a point that I felt like repaying such people with their own coin, but is it worth it? What do I gain by doing so and what do I lose by not doing so? The answer is nothing.

I do not have to be a sociologist or psychologist to know that someone who behaves inappropriately occasionally or constantly has a lot on their plate. How they handle that situation though, is what interests me at this moment. Would I expect an individual who has constantly been told s/he will amount to nothing to have a high esteem of him/her self to react any better? Maybe not. If someone does not value what they have, they are not likely to value what other people have. On the other hand, they are likely to find every excuse to think you are aware of their shortcomings and failures, therefore have trained themselves to be on the defensive.

Are you aware of how vital the words of your mouth are and the impact they might have forever on those you come across? If you do what will you do differently?

One day I was in a secondary school to teach a few 11-12 year olds. As they were very few in the class I saw it as a bonus but how wrong could I be. I watched as they all came in to take their seats, what caught my eye straight away was that they all sat at the back. I began to think instantly what might be the problem. These are young children who should be keen at learning, particularly when we talk about English: sentence constructing, mind mapping, paper cutting, a river of imagination and creativity. Sadly, the reverse was the case, they switched off. Astonishingly, I realised I had lost these little ones that seemed so tender and full of potential. Readmore

Welcome

Hope for the living is a unique site as it is a site for all. I am so excited you are following me on this blog and look forward to reading your interesting thoughts and ideas.

There is hardly any human being who does not hope at one time or the other during their life time. A young baby hopes to talk one day so as to communicate with the parents.so does a little boy hope to grow up one day and become someone great. We all hope for one thing or another and the moment we get it, it calls for a celebration in our lives. As a young person I am sure you did hope for one thing or another and how happy you became when you achieved it.

This sums up the brain behind this website and blog. We all hope for one thing or another and because we hope it helps us to stay focused, therefore, when we achieve our desired goals we rejoice; at times calling for a celebration, so it is celebration time now as we see our goals achieved, success come our way and our needs, desires and aspirations fulfilled.

I do hope you follow me on this blog, sharing your views, ideas and valuable comments.

I look forward to reading your posts.
